Michael F. Cantwell MD, MPH

​​ Bio

Dr. Cantwell is board-certified in Pediatrics, and sees both adults and children in his Holistic Medicine practice.  He is a Quaker and seeks to integrate the physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual aspects of health.

Before opening his solo private practice (MCMD), Dr. Cantwell was Lead Physician at the Institute for Health and Healing Clinic (1998-2012), one of the nation’s premier Holistic Medicine centers, and at Rising Phoenix Integrative Medicine Center (2012-2017) both in San Francisco. His work has been recognized at the national level through multiple publications, lectures, and service on the first National Advisory Council for the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD.


Conventional Medicine Training

Dr. Cantwell graduated summa cum laude from State University of New York (SUNY)-Buffalo, NY with BA’s in Biology and Philosophy. He graduated medical school from SUNY-Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY and received his post-graduate pediatric training at the University of Minnesota Hospitals in Minneapolis, MN and the University of California-San Francisco (UCSF),CA.

Dr. Cantwell earned his Masters Degree in Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology at the University of California-Berkeley and was a Geographic Medicine Fellow at Stanford University.  Subsequently, he served in the Tuberculosis Control Branch of the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, GA and completed a post-graduate Fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Stanford University and UCSF.

Keyaira Terry

Bio ​​

Ms. Terry is from Ukiah, CA. She started her medical career at Howard Memorial Hospital in Willits, CA, as a phlebotomist/advanced phlebotomist in the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department. She then went to work for Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation as a phlebotomist and Patient Services Representative (PSR). She started her work in alternative medicine as a PSR at the Institute for Health and Healing Clinic. During that time she learned more about nutrition and physical training, started the Paleo diet, and lost over 100 lbs. In 2014, she began working as Administrative Coordinator for Dr. Cantwell and quickly recognized his skills as a physician, mentor, and friend.

In her off-time, Keyaira runs her own business on Etsy making handmade leather goods with custom imprinting -  www.keyaiira.etsy.com.  She also enjoys spending time with her husband, Weston, and their two English bulldogs, Olive and Lola.
